Lipstick blots out seeing the library building pig

Apparently Don Lane (Guest Commentary, July 30) has so much lipstick smeared on his rose-colored glasses that he has trouble seeing the pig – the proposed eight-story building that would displace our farmers market and eliminate the last good place for a town square...

... We could be enjoying a thoroughly renovated 21st-century downtown library today; but no, the obsession with the pig means we are still waiting. Santa Cruz doesn’t need the pig.
