Watching the city weakly defend its latest downtown plan at the recent council meeting, I wondered if council members privately wished they could just adopt Measure O and be done trying to defend the indefensible. The newest staff proposal is now belatedly copying just about everything that Measure O has pushed for – but at far greater cost, far more environmental damage — plus loss of beauty and history.
