City planning has been everything but planning. I just read that the city planners want to move the farmers market. In the article in the Sentinel on Oct. 16, the city suggested that Lot 7 was a possibility.

I don’t see it as a good plan. The exposure is not the greatest if you consider a southern exposure. The traffic on Front Street is busy because it is a thoroughfare from River Street, and Water Street to the Boardwalk. And add the Metro to the ingredient. Come on planners, stop shooting from the hip.

Was anyone hoping all the Red White and Blue “Vote” buttons above Oct. 8’s “Mayor’s Message” might herald inspiring words that would encourage everyone to get out and vote? No such luck! Sonja Brunner diminishes her office by furthering City Hall’s misrepresentation of “Yes on O.”

Certainly, low-income housing is essential, but let us craft it with respect for those who will be making their homes there.

I may be a simple-minded fool, but it strikes me that decisions in local politics can be easily made by asking “Where’s the money?” Developers and Realtors almost always value profits and commissions over community. If they contribute generously to a candidate or issue as they are wont to do, they expect that donation to serve their interests. I value community over developers and realtors, so, with few exceptions, I simply vote where they ain’t. End of story.
