Letter to the SC Sentinel, 1/21/2022
An article in the Jan. 13 Sentinel reported on the County Planning Commission’s recent meeting at which they reviewed plans regarding the Aptos library. It always seemed a serious omission that the City of Santa Cruz Planning Commission never played a part in decisions that involved major re-arranging of downtown, i.e. moving the library from the Civic Center and all the associated re-arrangement that have been going through the planning process. The project has been driven by the Economic Development Department, which has no associated City Advisory Body, whereas the Planning Department does. Coincidence? I think not.
